11. Plymouth Prowler
With its Indy-style front wheels, this sportster doesn’t quite know what decade it belongs to.
Instead of turning heads with style, it shocked people with its over-the-top design that could easily be dubbed an “eyesore.”
Long and sleek, the Prowler was sold in 1997 and then from 1999-2002. While the design was obnoxious enough, the paint jobs of these cars could be equally atrocious. Purple metallic or gold rendered this car unbelievable. Who drives a car like that?
Obviously, some people did because the car continued to sell for Chrysler for a couple years. Eventually, “Plymouth” was dropped and the car simply became known as the Chrysler Prowler. In the end, the car–like many retro vehicles–became more of a novelty than an enduring vehicle with style.
While these cars are aging today, you might still catch one on the road. However, they are not a common sight. You will definitely remember if you see one as they stick out like a sore thumb. In many ways, this car looks like a ZZ Top-mobile gone bad.
