This space-age sports car has not aged well. You might want to trade in your model for something a little more hip if you happen to own one.

These cars were built in New Brunswick, Canada between 1974 and 1976. They were unconventional for the seventies and could be viewed as unconventional for any era.

They do have a 1980-ish look about them, but their radical design just didn’t take off even though it looked like it might take off into thin air with its futuristic design.

Initially, it wasn’t the over-the-top gull-wing doors that prevented this vehicle from obtaining success. It was the manufacturer’s lack of experience and production problems. Moreover, funding became difficult to obtain as delays began to plague the company.

The car was initially dubbed as a “safe” sports car. While its makers wanted to also create an economical sports car, the vehicle’s safety features ramped up the cost to produce them substantially. Today, there aren’t very many of these vehicles around. Car experts believe that only around a thousand are likely still in existence.

Though the concept of this concept car never really took off, it may still be an interesting vehicle for some simply because it is so rare these days.
