20. Aston Martin Lagonda
Their squared-off and box-like shapes make them a ridiculously cumbersome car to witness ambling down the roadways. Aston Martin probably should have stuck to making sports cars.
Interestingly, the Lagonda was unconventional for its time and not especially well-liked even during the 1970s when other box-like cars seemed to be in vogue. Yet its box shape was far too dramatic.
Design aside, Lagonda was one of the first production cars to boast a computer system. Not surprisingly, this system was incredibly expensive and prone to failure.
Consequently, often drivers were forced to stare at their beast as it waited in the driveway for costly repairs. Of course, with their grand size, these vehicles could carry along quite a party when its computer system was functioning.
Often cited as one of the ugliest cars of the last century, the Aston Martin Lagonda is certainly a car that a person would be embarrassed to drive today–if they could even get it started! An interesting detour on the timeline of cars, it’s the sort of car one might find interesting in a museum, but not to keep as one’s own.
