7. Plaid
Plaid probably falls under the same category as a sweater vest – nerdy and reserved for high-end Scottish parties and weddings.
If you opt for a sexy plaid shirt you might be able to get away with it, but the risk of looking childish is too high so you’d be better off choosing a safer option, such as a black or a dark blue shirt with no patterns.
Plaid on any other garment except a shirt is absolutely out of the question. Girls don’t think it’s attractive and you shouldn’t waste your time trying to convince them that it is.
If you’re feeling insecure about your date outfit, enlist the help of a close female (not mom) and see what she thinks. Impressing a girl on a date will be easier if you ask another member of her sex for her opinion.
