12 Movies So Bad That They Are Actually Funny
10. Battleship
The studio behind “Battleship” released it in every market around the world before its United States launch. This move should have provided a clue as to what the movie had to offer.
From start to finish, Battleship makes very little sense. Aliens who came from space are only able to travel over water.
It’s never made quite clear what the attempted invasion is supposed to achieve. A big budget and big name stars couldn’t rescue this movie, and serious questions must have been asked at the studio after it bombed.
The film also marked the acting debut of R’n B singer Rihanna who was nominated for Worst Supporting Actress at the Golden Raspberry Awards.

The film is based on a board game developed by Milton Bradley in 1967. The game began life as a pencil and paper game which dates back to WWI. Battleship was one of the very first videogames and was developed for the Z80 Compucolour in 1979. It has been reinvented several times since then and has enjoyed far better success as a computer game than as a movie.
