7. Prisoner – Video Gamer
They are usually limited to things related to the very building they are ‘staying in’, manufacturing license plates, making books in Braille, building furniture or mixing paint to be used on highways.
However, some new data says that modern prisoners are now being asked to play video games.
Apparently, more than 100,000 video game farmers in prisons are playing 12-hour shifts of games like World of Warcraft, where you are basically farming gold.
Prisoners are asked to build up the virtual currency and then turn it over to the prison guards who then sell it to other gamers for real money. Some prisoners even get paid up to $700 a day to do this.
A place to stay, free food, getting paid to play WoW… Doesn’t really sound like prison, now does it?
