3 Weight Loss Tips For 2017 That Don’t Involve Strict Diets At All
According to a recent survey conducted by Aldi, more than half of 2017 New Year’s resolutions revolve around:
- healthier eating
- weight loss
- fitness
However, only 9% of Americans follow through and actually do something about it.
These numbers are far from good, which is why we decided to give you 3 tactical tips that will help you lose weight in 2017. None of these involve strict diets, but will (hopefully) do wonders for your overall health and your figure.
1. Go Early To Bed
One study published in November last year in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that men who slept less than 6 hours per night ate 385 more calories the next day, and to make matter worse – they usually ate junk food and empty calories instead of protein.
So, make sure you get your 8 hours as often as possible.
2. Be Realistic About Your Goals
Another common mistake that us men tend to make is expecting huge results right away. We need to realize that success doesn’t come easily, which is why you need to focus on your overall behavior and way of life, not just the outcome.
Folks over at Men’s Health figured it out:
“Set a goal, but then work backwards and figure out the behaviors needed to reach that goal. For example, if you have a weight goal in mind, figure out realistically how long it should take (assuming about 1 to 2 pounds of weight loss per week). Then work on the small, incremental behaviors that will help you achieve the goal.”
Make sure you:
- cut out soda,
- eat protein at each meal,
- eat veggies at each meal.
3. Stop Overthinking About Your Food
Healthy and delicious food is one of the best aspects of our existence and eating should be nothing but enjoyable. Food fuels our bodies and our minds; it can make our whole day; and it connects people. So, make sure you don’t skip your meals, don’t overthink, and make sure you also provide your body with enough exercise.
The trick is to set a healthy mindset, and everything else will fall right into place.
