8 Tips to Help You Survive the Emotional Rollercoaster of Divorce

6. Recharge Often and Feed Your Soul

As strong as we think we are, humans can be incredibly frail at times. Divorces will drain your mental and physical reserves over time, no matter how much sleep you get or how physically fit you are.

This means that you need to take time to recharge your batteries and feed your soul. What exactly does it mean to feed your soul? Feeding your soul can mean a lot of different things, and it will vary from person to person.

There is no one recommendation for how to feed your soul; rather it is a simple suggestion to not overlook yourself and your needs during a divorce. Recharging your batteries means taking time out to relax, lose yourself in a hobby, craft, or other activity and just forget your cares for a bit.

The trick with feeding your soul and recharging is that you have to recognize when a good time to do that is. If you’ve accomplished a few of your tasks for the day, don’t rush off to another task on the list.

Accept your progress and then take time to read a book or go for a walk. If you have free time because a good friend helped you with a task, bask in their kindness and use that extra time to relax instead of tackling the next task.
