How To Calculate Your Body Mass Index Like A Man
There are numerous ways to measure the amount of body fat a person has, but most of them are not yet available to general public and this equipment is rather expensive.
This is why we decided to delve a bit deeper into this issue and came across a way you can measure your Body Mass Index and get your body fat percentage pretty accurately.
Calculating Body Mass Index
The easiest method is to measuring waist circumference and determining your Body Mass Index, or BMI. Although waist measuring isn’t that complicated (general rules say a waist circumference over 35 inches for women and 40 inches for men is cause for concern), getting your actual BMI requires a bit more calculating.
Get your accurate BMI by multiplying your weight in pounds by 703, then dividing this number by your height in inches times two.
If the end result is less than 18.5, you are considered underweight, and results from 18.5 to 24.9 are considered to be optimal. If you, however, get from 25.0 to 29.9, you are considered to be overweight, and over 30 is obese.
