One of the most important things about job interviews is being relaxed. However, there’s a fine line between not being tense and acting overly-familiar with your potential employer and this line can be crossed much easier than you think.

You’re not supposed to be too formal during your interview, because your interviewer wants to see how you act every day, but you also don’t want to be too chummy, because lacking manners and courtesy is a one-way trip to the exit door.

Another thing you want to avoid by miles is lying. This is the age of technology, and everyone is able to find out anything about almost anybody. This is why giving false information and crowning yourself with achievements you didn’t really accomplish is a really bad idea.

If there is something that bosses hate, it’s a suck-up employee. Putting your potential employer or company on a pedestal might flatter them at first, but doing this continuously will just annoy them and push them into rejecting you.

Finally, your wardrobe can say a lot about you, so you don’t want to mess this up either. Being dressed over-the-top is a definite no, but being underdressed is likewise a bad idea.

Believe it or not, we live in a class-based society. This ultimately means that you need to have class, humor, and manners, but just enough of it not to top off the person you’re trying to impress.
