8. Most Beer Steins Carried Over 40 Meters

Sydney is the home to Reinhard Wurtz, a Bavarian-born (therein lies the catch, probably) Sydney restaurant manager who managed to carry 20 steins filled with beer for 40 meters.

The event happened at the Lowenbrau Bierhall in Sydney’s Rocks during which he set this amazing world record.

“The secret to stein-carrying,” Reinhard says, “is you need to have long, slender fingers – but you also need strong, manly arms. Having a passion for what you do and a love of drinking beer also helps, especially in the practice stages when you tend to spill a lot. I always drink wheat beer because it has 14 amino acids to help muscles grow.”

To put things in perspective, each beer-filled stein weighs at least 2.5 kilograms, which means Wurtz carried more than 50 kilos of beer when he was going down in history.
